Yes – We Went to Spain, and Yes – We Made Memories!

What do a girl and her best friend do during their summer vacation? They go to Spain, of course! Well, not really, but Melissa B and I were fortunate enough to do so. We had obstacles and it almost didn’t happen, but when it came down to it, we realized we’re only young once! Opportunities like this don’t come every day, and when they do you have to pounce on them because you only regret the things you didn’t do in life.

So, off we went! Bon voyage, USA! We love you, but we’ve got places to go, people to meet, and memories to make.

Our first stop was Barcelona. We only had a day there, so we had to make the most of it, and we did! First, we visited the Sagrada Família, and let me tell you, we walked off the subway, turned around and before us was the most spectacular and idiosyncratic structure I’d ever seen – simply magnificent! We drank sangria and ate tapas at Taller de Tapas, recommendation courtesy of my sister, SC. We wandered through the city with no particular place to go, no plan, no map – we went where our curiosity took us. It was ideal. We made wishes and threw coins into a grand fountain, we carved our initials in a tree and drew a heart around it, we were free and we were happy.

After walking all day discovering different parts of the city, we made our way back to the airport. We had a plane to catch – a plane to IBIZA!

Now, Ibiza is no ordinary island. Ibiza is a party. Ibiza is the party Mecca of the world! And we were there to take it over!

From the moment we stepped foot on the ground, we could see in each other’s faces, we could see in strangers faces that everyone was here for the same reason – to get down and have fun!

The Party Starts HERE!

We fought through our jet lag and went out that very night, though it wasn’t very difficult. Our friend from Miami, whom we stayed with along with three other girls, had energy oozing out of him, it was truly infectious! That night we went to Pacha to see Erick Morillo. Our host, S, is friends with Morillo and showed us an absolutely memorable time. Afterwards, we went to Morillo’s house for what was to become one of the most unforgettable after-parties I’d ever been. At least two hundred people were there, bartenders and all, it was like a club, really. After an hour or so, some notable Hollywood names began to arrive – P. Diddy, Jude Law, Sienna Miller, Stacy Keibler, Cassidy, and Rony Seikaly to name a few.

During our trip we also went to Amnesia and Privilege, the largest club in the world! We saw DJs including: Paul van Dyk, Laidback Luke, Paul Oakenfold, and Above and Beyond. We met fellow Washingtonian’s, made friends, got locked out – even climbed over stone walls! What we had were unforgettable adventures.

Every night, we went out, every day, we lay in the sun, every moment spent on that magical island was a tribute to our youth, our blessings, and our everlasting friendship.

Everlasting

  1. Sounds like you had an amazing trip. I'm headed back to Ibiza in the fall for more fun at Privilege. It's an amazing club and has the best resident DJs in the world. It's to bad we don't have a club like that over here in the US. Thx for sharing your adventure. It was a great read.
